HQ, 60th Armored Inf. Battalion, 9th Armored Division "Envelope''

This is an original censored WWII Army Cover dated Januari 10, 1945 and is franked with stamp #C25a "Air Mail". The envelop was sent by Pfc. John R. Fields to Misses Irene Schapler, 410 Deleware Ave., Dayton, Ohio. Nevertheless the envelope contains nothing. The address the envelope was sent from was APO#259 which was in Amnéville, France on this date.

John R. Fields (#35448118) was a member of Hq. Company, 60th Armored Infantry Battalion, 9th Armored Division, at the time this letter was written. John Fields from Latcher County, Kentucky, was born in 1921 in Kentucky. He had a 4 years of high school education and his occupation was listed as "Attendents, filling station and parking lots". He entered the service as a draftee on October 6, 1942 at Huntington West Virginia.
